Terms of Service

By creating an account or using StudentPlace ("the platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users of StudentPlace, including students, talent sellers, and any other visitors.

StudentPlace is intended for college students who are 18 years of age or older. By using the platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are a current or recent college student. Currently, registration is open to students with a verified college email address (e.g. @cuchd.in) or a Google account. We reserve the right to expand or restrict eligibility at any time.

You are responsible for all activity on your account. You agree to: • Provide accurate information when creating your account • Keep your password secure and not share it with anyone • Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity • Not post content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, or violates others' rights • Not use the platform to spam, scam, or defraud other students • Not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform • Comply with all applicable Indian laws and regulations

You retain ownership of content you post on StudentPlace. By posting content, you grant StudentPlace a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content on the platform. Prohibited content includes but is not limited to: • Content that is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful • Content that targets, harasses, or bullies other students • Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or dangerous activities • Misinformation that could cause harm to others • Content that violates intellectual property rights • Any content that violates Indian law We use automated moderation and human review to enforce this policy. Violations may result in content removal or account suspension.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: StudentPlace is a platform that connects students. We are not a party to any transaction, agreement, or arrangement made between users. For all peer-to-peer features including Marketplace, Borrow & Lend, and Room Listings: • StudentPlace does not verify the accuracy of any listing • StudentPlace does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any item or service listed • StudentPlace is not responsible for any loss, damage, fraud, or dispute arising from transactions between users • Users transact entirely at their own risk • Always meet in safe, public places when exchanging items • Verify the condition and authenticity of items before completing any transaction • StudentPlace does not handle payments for peer-to-peer transactions By using these features, you agree to hold StudentPlace harmless from any claims arising from your transactions with other users.

Student Talents is a directory feature that allows students to list their skills and services. StudentPlace charges a ₹19/month subscription fee to list a talent profile (currently offered at 50% off the standard ₹38/month rate as a limited-time launch offer). DISCLAIMER: StudentPlace is not an employment platform and is not responsible for: • The quality or delivery of any service provided by a talent seller • Any disputes between a client and a talent seller • Any financial transactions between students outside of the subscription fee • Non-delivery of services or failure to meet agreed terms The subscription fee (currently ₹19/month) is for listing visibility only. StudentPlace does not take a commission on any work done between students. Refund Policy: The free trial (first 30 days) is non-refundable once used. Paid subscription fees are non-refundable after payment is processed, except in cases of technical error on our part. To request a refund for a technical error, contact us via studentplace.in/contact within 7 days of the charge.

IMPORTANT: The Emotional Feed, Venting Room, and AI Companion are peer support features. They are NOT a substitute for professional mental health care. • StudentPlace is not a mental health service • The AI Companion is powered by AI and cannot replace a qualified therapist or counsellor • If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a professional helpline immediately If you are in India and need immediate help, please call iCall at 9152987821 or Vandrevala Foundation at 1860-4662-345. StudentPlace is not liable for any outcomes resulting from reliance on the platform's emotional support features.

The Mentorship feature (when launched) will connect students with mentors. StudentPlace does not verify the credentials, qualifications, or background of any mentor listed on the platform. • StudentPlace is not responsible for the quality of advice given by mentors • Sessions and payments are arranged directly between students and mentors • StudentPlace is not liable for any outcomes arising from mentorship relationships formed on the platform

Your use of StudentPlace is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

The StudentPlace name, logo, design, and original content created by us are our intellectual property. You may not use, copy, or reproduce them without our written permission. User-generated content remains owned by the user who created it, subject to the licence granted in Section 4.

StudentPlace, including its concept, design, features, branding, and codebase, is an original work created by its founders. All rights are reserved. Unauthorised copying, reproduction, or imitation of StudentPlace's concept, design, user interface, or business model — in whole or in part — is strictly prohibited and may constitute copyright infringement and/or passing off under Indian and international law. This includes but is not limited to: - Cloning or substantially replicating the platform's design or feature set - Using the StudentPlace name, logo, or branding without permission - Reproducing any original written content from the platform If you believe your intellectual property has been infringed on our platform, or if you wish to report an infringement of our intellectual property, please contact us via studentplace.in/contact.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for: • Violation of these Terms of Service • Behaviour that is harmful to other users or the platform • Fraudulent or illegal activity • Any other reason at our discretion If your account is terminated for a policy violation, you are not entitled to a refund of any subscription fees paid. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us via studentplace.in/contact

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STUDENTPLACE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM: • Your use of or inability to use the platform • Any transactions or interactions with other users • Any content posted by other users • Any unauthorised access to your account • Any bugs, errors, or interruptions in the service StudentPlace's total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chandigarh, India. If you have a dispute with us, please first contact us via studentplace.in/contact. We will make every effort to resolve disputes amicably before any legal action is taken.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the platform. Continued use of StudentPlace after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
